The Fellowes Powershred 79Ci is a sleek and modern looking cross-cut office shredder that will shred up to 14 sheets at a time. It is recommended for between 1-3 users and has a P-4 security rating which means it is ideal for highly confidential shredding. The shredder shreds material into particles which are 4 x 38mm and it can operate continuously for up to 12 minutes, making it well suited to heavy-use work environments.
The Powershred 79Ci comes with a number of useful features including: a 100% Jam Proof system which electronically measures paper thickness to prevent paper jams; SafeSense Technology which immediately immobilises the shredder if hands touch the paper opening; SilentShred which minimises noise (especially good for a shared work environment); and an Energy Savings System which switches the shredder to standby mode after periods of inactivity in order to conserve power. The shredder also has castors for easy mobility around the office.
The Fellowes 79Ci has a 23 litre capacity waste bin in a pull-out style for easy emptying - and it can handle a range of media including paper, staples, small paperclips, credit cards and even CDs and DVDs. The ability to shred through staples and small paperclips is a great time saver, as you don’t have to spend time prepping documents before shredding.
Fellowes recommend oiling your shredder each time you empty the waste bin, applying oil across the paper entry with a non-aerosol vegetable oil in long nozzle container (see Fellowes 35250 Shredder Oil).
